In General Ledger > Report Format Maintenance, the system includes a Verify Accounts function designed to check that all G/L account numbers are properly included in your financial report formats. This helps ensure that your financial statements (like the Income Statement and Balance Sheet) balance correctly.
When to use Verify Accounts:
If you notice a discrepancy — for example, the Year‑to‑Date Net Profit/Loss on the Income Statement doesn’t match Current Earnings on the Balance Sheet — start by reviewing the G/L accounts associated with your financial reports.
How to run Verify Accounts:
Go to General Ledger > Report Format Maintenance.
At the top of the screen, click Functions > Verify GL Accounts.
The system will display any account numbers that are not currently associated with a financial report, including the account number, description, and type.
Optionally, click the Excel button to export a list of these accounts for review or update.
A detailed guide on the Verify Accounts function is attached to this article.
