Where to add a Salesperson in the BMS System

Where to add a Salesperson in the BMS System
There are two areas of the system that will allow you to add a new Salesperson. The first is located in the Sales Processing Menu, and is the traditional way of adding, and the second is in the System Maintenance Menu in the User Control 1 screen, which allows for simultaneous setup of a new User and setting up that User as a Salesperson in the system. Details on how to complete these screens can be found in the main documentation sections and you can check for steps in our growing Video library. There is also a KBA titled "Salesperson Maintenance" that you can access from Desk.

Add from Sales Processing:
To add a new Salesperson, navigate to Sales Processing >> Salesperson Processing Setup Programs Menu >> Salesperson Maintenance. Click Add in the bottom corner. Enter the Sales ID initials, Address and set the Commission Type. Then Save. There is a video and an article that covers Commission Types if you need to review those steps.

Add from System Maintenance:
You can add a User as a Salesperson at the same time you are creating their User profile. To add a new User/Salesperson, navigate to System Maintenance >> System Control Maintenance >> User Control >> User Control 1 and follow the steps below. Please Note: these steps assume you are familiar with adding a new User ID in BMS.

1. Type in a new User ID. Enter a Password for them and then arrow down through Associated Login/device.
2. Continue to enter/answer down through the permission questions.
3. At the prompt "Is this user a Sales Person" type a "Y" for yes and then you will be prompted to enter a Sales ID. If the system doesn't recognize the Sales ID, it will prompt you to add them as a SalesRep. You need to  proceed with this step even if you just save the ID and go back later and edit the details (see steps above), as you cannot add a Salesperson to a User ID unless they exist as a Salesperson in the system.
4. Complete the setup for the User, including adding a Custom Master Menu at the last prompt. After this, you will hit Esc and make sure to type Y to save changes. If you are asked to copy the settings to other ID's, type N for no. Be sure to complete the additional User Control 2-7 screens for the User.
