BMS Retail System
Release Notes v2102.2 – Q4 2021 Final
SALES PROCESSING:
- The Written Business Report (which must be turned on in order to use) now has a dropdown option for Region, which must also first be activated. This update will only be applicable to dealers utilizing the By Region (a group of Branches) functionality. Additionally, a checkbox--that’s checked by default to continue with normal behavior—has been added to provide an option to Not Split Between Reps. If this box is unchecked, it puts the full total on both Reps.
- In the Print Job Report, the following data has been added to the Excel export data: Credit Status, Terms %, Days, Net Days. You will now see all of this data in additional columns.
- At the bottom of the main Sales Processing screen, when the cursor is highlighted on a Job, you will now see a Margin % number for that Job display on the very bottom of the screen as follows:
In order to see this display, a User must be able to see Costs. There is no label and no characters indicating what this is, just the value itself.
- When partially invoicing a material line, you now have the ability to see/interact with both the Work and Sale Quantity fields. This was added to allow for mis-matched Work/Sale Quantity relationships. However, the system will not allow splitting off more than the original line. Additionally, a full stop was added once the full Work Quantity is selected to prevent any issues with a negative Sale Quantity from occurring.
- In the Batch Invoice Processing module, a Customer PO column has been added to the main screen as follows:
- In the Template screen of the Property Management /Builders Template module, the Sales Rep 1 tied to the Customer Maintenance module will now display under the Property Manager field. Please note that the data on the Ship-To Code, if different, will override this field.
- In the Projects Module, a Project Notes icon and functionality has been added to the Summary tab screen of each Project. These Notes work similarly to the Job Notes feature, but do not have the ability to print on documents. They can be found below the Summary tab as follows:
- In the Salesperson Payables and Salesperson Payables History modules, the Commission report export to Excel now includes the Customer Type and Ship To Addr 1 and 2. Also, Alternate Commission Plans have been added to the export. An “*” indicates an Alternate Commission Plan with a blank Code.
- New functionality has been added to the Open Order Report export to Excel. This allows for adding Cost and Budget info to the exported data provided the User can see Cost. A new checkbox appears as the last option in this report as follows: Print Line Level Cost Info (Excel Only). This checkbox can only be enabled where User can see Costs.
INVENTORY CONTROL:
- An update was made to the Catalog Item Sold By Box feature in the Catalog Maintenance module. When this feature is turned on or when updating the Box Qty field, the system will check inventory/pointers to see what is not divisible by the box quantity. When there is an issue with an entry, the system will prompt the following:
When you click “Yes” to view issues, an additional screen will prompt as follows displaying inventory records with an issue:
- Also in the Catalog Maintenance module, the Last Price Paid field is now only being updated from the Review PO History feature in the Accounts Payable Open Item Maintenance module. This field is no longer updated during the Receiving process.
- In the Inventory Maintenance module, from the Edit Inventory Item screen, you will now see an Excel button at the bottom right. This was added to allow for exporting/downloading the Pointer Record data in this screen. You will now see that button as follows:
- In the Special Pricing Mtc. module, when exporting pricing to Excel via the Print Existing option, the exported data now includes the Sales Rep.
- Build Order Committed Inventory has been added to the Inventory Usage export to Excel data.

If present, it will be sent to MSQ; when creating from Quote Entry, if Bundle Items is active, that ID will be sent over in the Trade field (this requires a change to client dll); and Building/Unit # has been added to Project Name and the User is able to edit prior to sending. Additionally, a change has been made to the import side of the integration. This change relates to the Bundle ID when updating existing lines.
