I think by now we all know that this happened:

We’ve definitely received some mixed feedback to this color change, but overall, we think the more modern color and the detail bar at the bottom were positive additions to the software. If your system has not yet been updated, please reach out to support@rmaster.com

SALES PROCESSING:

  1. In both Quote and Order Entry, you now have the ability to change the Accumulator Code on a Labor Line. This process will impact the current line only and will not make a change to the Catalog Item, essentially turning it into a manual (ad hoc) line. This means that if you wish to remove or change the Accumulator Code on the manual line, you will need to delete and start the process over.

INVENTORY CONTROL:
  1. In the Catalog Attributes program, all Drop List fields, including those on the .csv file import/export, have been extended to 40 characters from 20.

  1. A handful of updates have been made to the Associated Products functionality in Catalog Maintenance. For Mass Associations, if the system Catalog is shared among all Branches, the program now supports Branch Level setup. A Mass Association Active Branches box has been added to the setup that allows for selecting a specific Branch or more than on Branch for the Mass Association to appear. If no Branches are selected, the Association will display in All Branches automatically. The new screen appears as follows:

An additional change was made to allow for Associations by Customer Levels. The first level is by Customer ID, the second is Customer Ship To Code, which requires a Customer ID also, and then the third is Property Manager (On Ship To). This one is independent of Customer ID and Ship To Code. And finally, Mass Associated items will display in Quote/Order Entry in the following order: Vendor specified, Product Type specified, and Product Code specified. These options appear in the setup screen. Please Note: any single Associations will display first, followed by the ordered Mass Associations.

JOB COST:

  1. In the Work In Process – Costs from JC report module, the export to Excel has two new fields as follows: Job Status and Project Name (tied to new Projects Module).

  1. Four new fields have been added to the Master Lead Report. Since this is an Efficiency Tool, the details are covered in the API/BMS Efficiency Tools section below.

PURCHASE ORDERS:

  1. In the Select Filter dropdown box when searching for a Purchase Order, a new filter has been added as follows: Initials. This filter will search the Jobs tied to the reserved lines.

INSTALLATION SYSTEM:

  1. In the Installation Schedule module, a few changes have been made to the bottom of the Installation Schedule Screen to accommodate the most relevant data. The new section appears as follows:

The Building/Unit (1) fields have replaced the Ship To Address, and other fields moved around to fill in the space. The Special Instructions (2) field that appeared above the Install Date now appears below the Sales Rep fields and is now labeled Instructions. A Line (3) column has been added in place of the Code column. And finally, where the Lines Found field used to appear, the # of Jobs and Data (4) fields are now displayed. The Save Changes button has been removed as any changes will prompt you to click the Refresh button at the top of the screen.

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE:

  1. N/A in Q4 2020.

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE:

  1. The Print A/P Form 1099 module has been updated to print the new 1099-NEC form. When you enter this module, you will see the option in the 1099 Type drop-down menu as follows:

Because of the updates to the 2020 Federal Tax Laws as regards non-employees and subcontractors, this change, in addition to the changes to Vendor Maintenance, should ensure your compliance as long as the amounts are being reported correctly. Please make sure to print a test page prior to printing your live 1099 forms to make sure all fields are lined up. Also, at some point prior to this update, the TIN Number field was added to the top of the screen for adding an applicable Tax Identification Number for the 1099 print. This field pulls from the Federal Withholding Table located in the Payroll System menu, and can still be accessed for updates. It can also be edited for each print run, but will not save any data. At some point in the future, a change will be made to allow for accessing and saving the TIN Number in a more accessible way.

With this control set to “Y” for yes, a Please Enter Companies box will prompt as follows:

This setting specifies which companies will share customers. When a Customer ID is added to either Company, it will be added to both automatically. When a Ship To Code is added, it will be added to both automatically. When a Customer ID or Ship To Code are edited from Customer Maintenance, the system will save both automatically. When a Customer Sold To is edited from a Quote or Order, the system will update both companies automatically.

API/BMS EFFICIENCY TOOLS PROGRAMMING NOTES:

  1. In the Master Lead Report—located in the Job Cost Reports menu—that is tied to the Leads Processing module, four new fields have been added to the report. Those four fields appear as follows: Sub-Territory, Special, Zone/Region, and Alert Codes. Each of these relates to newer fields in the Leads Processing module.

  1. An update was made in the Work Order Instruction Sheet to allow for creating an Installer Web Invoice Signature in the BMS Web Calendar efficiency tool. When you enter this module, you will see the new option as follows:

When you click on the Web Invoice Signature option, an Installer Web Invoice Signature screen will appear as follows:

This program is based on the old Work Order Instruction Sheet and works the same. You can customize by Branch and Product Type. To add a line, type in the Instruction field above and click the Add/Update button to send it to the Instruction box below.
