How to Prevent a User From Changing or Deleting Lines on Job See the steps below to prevent a user from deleting or changing job lines. In order to prevent this, the user will need to be set up as a salesperson, or you can use a House Account sales ID.
Navigate to System Maintenance > System Control Maintenance > User Control > User Control 1
In the User Control 1 screen, enter down to the question "Is This User A Salesperson?" You will need to type "Y" for yes to prompt additional Salesperson Options to complete. Be prepared to enter a Salesperson ID (Initials) in the next field.
The second question, "Allow Changes of Job Lines", refers to whether you want a Salesperson to be able to change a job line once material has been ordered and/or assigned. If you type an "N" for no at this field, the Salesperson will not be able to delete, unassign, or change the quantity or price of a job line once material has been ordered or assigned to that line. Changing job lines will become a management-only function.
