How to Set Up Gravity (formerly ChargeItPro) on Your Device

Covers how to Set Up Gravity, formerly ChargeItPro (CIP), on a Computer for RollMaster.
Does not cover: Broadlume Payments, Cyncly Payments, Cyncly Pay, or Payments Flex
 


Initial Set-Up Steps:

Step 1: In RM Start, click the green Settings button, and then click Web Services.


 

Step 2: Next, navigate to System Maintenance -> Hardware Maintenance -> Gravity Maintenance. Click the Run Setup to run the download and follow the steps on the screen. 


 

NOTE: Gravity/CIP must be installed on each device that a user will need to process payments. 

 

User Control Steps:
For a User to have administrative Gravity controls, change the User Controls for their specific User ID. The following User Controls apply in User Control 6:

Administrator for Charge It Pro:  At least 1 User per company will need to be set as an Administrator for Gravity. This can be set in System Maintenance -> System Control Maintenance -> User Control -> User Control 6

  1. Enter the User ID for the person who needs access.
  2. Enter down to the control marked Administrator for Gravity and set to Y for yes.

Allowed to Skip Gravity: This permission gives Users who the ability to skip the Gravity processor (enabling them to document the movement of money between jobs and to record payments for transactions that happened outside of BMS). Not all Users are required to have access to this control.

Navigate to System Maintenance -> System Control Maintenance -> User Control -> User Control 6

  1. Enter the User ID for the person who will receive access
  2. Enter down to the control marked Allowed to Skip Gravity and set to Y for yes.

 

Payment Type Code Set-Up Steps:

To process payments with Gravity, Payment Type Codes must be associated. Navigate to Sales Processing -> Sales Processing Setup Programs (menu) -> Payment Type Code Maintenance.

  1. On each Credit Card Payment Type Code, double-click to open and edit.
  2. Look to the right of the screen under the drop-down labeled Gravity.
  3. Select the item that matches the Format Code for that particular credit card. Ex: Format Code: Visa would be associated with Gravity: Visa. Be sure to save the screen after changes are made.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 to associate all credit card types appropriately.
  5. If your company has multiple branches, each branch should be set up with Payment Type Codes for use with Gravity.

This can be done manually, or you can copy the code to other branches using Functions -> Copy Payment Type Code to Another Branch. This feature is located at the top of the Payment Type Code Maintenance Screen.


Please Note: All features in the Payment Type Code Maintenance screen will be copied, including G/L Account and Job Cost Percent, so make sure to verify the copied information is accurate. If your branches use different G/L codes for separate bank accounts, you can manually edit the G/L account before saving. 

In the Branch Copy screen, select the applicable branch from the drop-down, and click Save. 

Once all Payment Type Codes have been associated with all branches, you will be finished with setup on the RollMaster side.
