Moving Existing Inventory to B2B Catalog Items This article will go over how to move your non-B2B catalog inventory to imported B2B Catalog Items. There are a few things you need to do to get started.
1) Print an Inventory Valuation (freight split) by Vendor to see what you have in stock under the non-B2B Catalog Items.
2) Refer to the attached document (2nd scenario) on moving inventory from non-B2B catalog items to the imported B2B catalog items.
3) When the move is complete, re-print the Inventory Audit Report to verify that changes were made correctly. The net change should be zero.
4) To mass hide the old catalog items by Product Code and ensure only the imported B2B Catalog Items appear in the catalog lookup screens, go to Inventory Control > Special Catalog Maintenance and choose Edit Cat.Lookup by Prod. This feature will hide all catalog items within a Product Code that don't currently have available inventory. To handle this one catalog item at a time, you will need to pull up the catalog item and click the Active Item button, making it Inactive.
As for open Jobs that have inventory assigned to the non-B2B catalog items, you need to decide whether to finish those out as they are or unassign, delete line, move inventory, add B2B catalog item line, and re-assign material. It would be less work to leave them assigned the way they are and just move the available inventory to the new catalog item. Then you can invoice those jobs as they are and set the catalog item to Inactive.
