Handheld Server Move Steps
There are currently 2 different setups for handhelds depending on the firmware available at the time. To determine if the setup is the older version (black ones always use the older setup while red Tritons may use either) or the newer version, power on the handheld and use the Menu button to navigate to the Administration menu.
Tip: If menus do not scroll, press escape once and then use the menu button to navigate. Once in Administration, select VT Setup and select Hosts. The top entry should be RM, with an IP address below it.
If the IP address is all zeros, it is the older setup.
If there is an IP address, it is more than likely the newer setup.
Older setup
Press escape one time to return to the Administration menu, then select Custom 1.
The top line is titled Command and highlighted. Press Enter (this is a long string of characters that hold specific settings.) Your goal is to change only the IP address.
Use the blue arrow buttons to move the cursor, as this will keep you from deleting any characters.
Once on the IP address field, begin typing the new IP address directly over the existing one. If the new IP address is shorter than the old one, just use the blue arrow to move to the right and then use backspace (bottom right above shift) to remove additional characters. If it is longer, add the remaining characters back in.
After the IP address, it should read [space]-p[space]2222.
Press enter and then escape to the Admin Menu.
Restart the handheld and confirm it connects.
Newer setup
From Administration, select VT Setup and select Hosts.
Press Enter on RM and scroll down to SSH Server Addr.
Press Enter and select 1 for Server IP or 2 for URL-based address.
The current IP address setting will display and you can type directly over it.
Note: When entering the new IP address, when each part of the dotted-decimal format contains fewer than 3 digits, insert leading zeros. There is no need to enter dots.
Press Enter and escape to the Administration menu.
Restart the handheld and confirm it connects.
