Changing a Salesperson's Commission Plan - How Does it Affect Open / Closed Jobs?
In the event you need to make changes to a Salesperson's Commission plan, here are answers to a few commonly asked questions:
Q: When will a change in scale percentages take effect on an update to a Scale Commission ID?
A: The change will take effect immediately.
Q: How does the change affect existing jobs?
A: Existing jobs will automatically be updated to the new commission.
Q: What about invoiced jobs - how does the change in scale affect those?
A: Anything already invoiced is final and will remain the same. You can, however, use the Credit Rebill feature to make changes to the commission after Invoicing.
Q: When will a change in Standard Commission take effect after an update to a Sales ID?
A: Changing the Standard commission rate on a salesperson will take effect ONLY on new Jobs. However, you can change the Sales ID on an existing Job and then change it back in order for the new Standard commission rate to read through and update.
Q: What if I am changing a Sales ID from a Standard Commission Rate to a Scale Commission?
A: You can change the Sales ID on an existing Job and then change it back in order for the new Scale commission rate to read through and update.
