Navigate to System Maintenance > System Control Maintenance > User Control > User Control 1. Look for the question: "Allow – Add Customers" as shown below:
If you want the user to be able to add new Customers to the system database, set this control to "Y" for yes. When set to yes, the system will then prompt the following: User allowed to edit Sold To from Job?
This will determine whether the User can alter or create a Ship To Code on a Job. If the User is allowed to edit (not create) the Sold To fields, a box will appear asking if they want to update the customer information. If they answer yes, this information updates A/R Customer Maintenance. If they answer no, it will only apply to that Job. This was added so a Salesperson that enters a bad address or no address could edit the information without being given access to A/R Customer Maintenance.
Additionally, regardless of how the Allow - Add Customers question is answered, the system will prompt the following:
The default setting is “Y” for yes, so only if you wish to prevent a User from changing a Customer on an existing Job or Quote should you set this option to “N” for no.
