Testing the Cut Interface

How do you test the AccuCut interface when issues arise?
There is a testing utility inside the cut interface itself. Follow the steps and refer to the image below. Please Note: Before trying the below steps, shut down the machine and computer and restart. Ensure AccuCut is running (should be in run at startup) and try again.

For further testing:
  • The first thing to check is that the comm port is correct and that the cut machine type is correct.
  • From there, you can hit the Test button.
  • Next, you can mimic calls to the machine. Choose the port and hit the Connect button.
  • The 'connected' is only saying that it can see the DLL, not the machine, so you can then send a cut (transmit to the machine) and then roll out the measuring wheel, and hit Get Length (query machine for values).
  • When you hit Connect, it will talk to the local DLL and 'lock' a handle with the machine for communication, but it doesn't mean the machine is actually talking back.
