Company logos and settings are handled in System Maintenance -> Document Maintenance. On the right side of the screen, you can upload a custom logo under Selected Header Settings.
Below are some quick logo requirements, along with ways to determine if a customer logo is too big and needs to be resized (a more detailed explanation appears in the attachment along with examples):
The format must be JPG.
For logo design, it is best to use a 1:5 ratio and scale to 1.5”. This means for every inch of logo height, the width can’t be more than 5 inches wide. At 1.5” tall, that would give you the maximum width for a sheet of paper with standard margins. Opening the image in Microsoft Paint will show you the height x width in pixels to get an exact value of your logo.
A Header logo can be 1.6” in height and Footer logo can be 1.5” in height.
For size, the ratio of the width to length times the logo height has to be less than 7.5”. It is preferred that the logo be centered to make use of maximum space.
The logo has to be in the RGB color space. This matters the most for customers using a graphic designer who may choose a non-compatible color space. If this is the case, the output colors are completely different from the image, almost like a negative. An easy fix is to open the file in Microsoft Paint and save as a new file.
How to center your Header logo:
Under Selected Header Settings, once you've uploaded a logo, you can set the Print Height (listed in inches). You also have the option to set the Logo Start Column.
Generally, using 40 as the Logo Start Column will center your logo on the page. Using 1.50 as the Print Height is a recommendation for centering height-wise.
In terms of the image file size, the ideal pixel size is 1275 x 300.
As all logo images will differ, you may need to adjust your image file size, the Print Height and Logo Start Column until you get the desired print results.
