How to Print QR Codes for BMS Samples

How do you print QR Codes for your showroom/samples?

We're excited to announce the launch of our new QR Codes feature for BMS software. This powerful new tool allows you to create and print QR codes linking to product pages, making it easier to price your showroom effectively.

Equipment needed:  

1. It is recommended to have a dedicated Zebra printer for your QR codes to streamline configuration and repeat usage.  
2. BMS QR Codes print best from Zebra printers.  We recommend this one:  Zebra ZD220 / ZD220d Direct Thermal USB Barcode Label Printer - Black  |    Or this one:  Zebra ZD220 203 dpi Barcode Printer.  See below for installation instructions for your Zebra printer.  
3. Buy compatible  2 x 2” Labels

To use the Print QR Codes feature, follow these steps:

1. Go to the Catalog Maintenance screen.
2. Select the product you want to create a QR code for (at the Color level).
3. Click the "Print QR Code" button.
4. Click the "Print" button.

You can also print QR codes in bulk from the Price List Maintenance screen. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Go to the Price List Maintenance screen.
2. Click the "Print QR Codes" button.
3. Optionally, limit this print to only items you sample or a specific vendor and/or product type.
4. Click the "Print" button.

How to set up your Zebra printer.

   1. Please Note: This is for setting up a zebra for barcode printing, but you will follow similar steps for your QR code printer setup.  
   2. Differences will be at the following timestamps:
      1. 1:33 | changing printing defaults Width = 2”; Height = 2”; and Labels with gaps; portrait
      2. 3:30 | name your printer “QRCodes2x2” or similar for easy reference

What settings can I adjust?  

If you would like to change any of the following, please contact our support team at BMSsupport@broadlume.com:

• Store name or logo that appears at the top of the product page after scanning a QR code
• Whether your QR label includes the style name printed or not

Can I Deactivate a QR Code?

The QR Code programming does not check your Catalog to see if an item is still Active before displaying its information. At this time the only way to deactivate a QR Code is to Delete the Catalog item that was linked to its creation.

Deletion of a Catalog Item is usually not recommended. Instead, if an item is being discontinued, you no longer wish to sell it, etc. we recommend
